Vladimir Mikhailovich Schuljatikow ( Russian Владимир Михайлович Шулятиков ; born September 30 . Jul / 12. October  1872 greg. In Moscow , † March 26 jul. / 8. April  1912 greg. ) Was a Russian linguist , philosopher and revolutionary .

Life

Shulyatikov, son of the revolutionary and insurance inspector Mikhail Ivanovich Shulyatikov , left the 1st Moscow High School in 1892 with a silver medal and then studied at the University of Moscow in the historical - philological faculty . In 1894 he organized together with Vladimir Maximowitsch Fritsche , Alexander Antonowitsch Kurssinski , Konstantin Antonowitsch Chlebowski and Pjotr ​​Semjonowitsch Kogan the circle of friends of Western European literature . He joined the social democratic movement and published articles in various magazines. In 1898 he completed his university studies.

In 1902 Shulyatikov became a member of the Moscow Committee of the Russian Social Democratic Workers' Party (RSDRP). In 1903 he became a member of the Archangel Committee of the RSDRP (until 1905) and a Bolshevik .

Shulyatikow has translated works by Ada Negri , Alfred Jeremias , John Mitchel , Angelo Oliviero Olivetti , George Bernard Shaw , José Echegaray and especially works by Vicente Blasco Ibáñez into Russian . Shulyatikov's main work is his book, published in 1908, on the justification of capitalism in Western European philosophy from René Descartes to Ernst Mach . Lenin's notes on this were published by Mikko Kammari in 1937 in the journal Proletarskaya Revolyuziya No. 8.

Shulyatikov died of stomach cancer after an operation in the soldiers' hospital and was buried in the Vagankovo ​​cemetery . In 1913 his uncle Alexander Petrovich Tscharuschnikow was buried next to him .

In 1921, at the request of the People's Commissar for Justice Dmitri Ivanovich Kurski and a resolution of the Small Council of People's Commissars with Lenin's consent , Shulyatikov's family received a personal pension because of Shulyatikov's great importance for the USSR .

The Social Revolutionary Anna Mikhailovna Rasputina was Shulyatikov's sister.
