Wladimir Wiktorowitsch Morozov ( Russian Влади́мир Ви́кторович Моро́зов , scientific transliteration Vladimir Viktorovič Morozov ; born June 16, 1992 in Novosibirsk ) is a Russian swimmer .

Career

Vladimir Morozov trained from 2002 to 2007 in the children's and youth sports school in Kolzowo , Novosibirsk Oblast . In 2007 he went to the USA , where he studied at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and is a member of their sports club.

Since 2011 he has been a member of the Russian national team, for which he first started at the 2011 World Championships in Shanghai . He is a specialist in freestyle and backstroke swimming. Here he won an Olympic medal in the relay and several medals at world championships. He holds the Russian record over 50 m back.

In July 2016, Morosow was excluded from the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro by FINA in connection with the findings of years of systematic doping in Russia .
