The nature reserve Wolfsägertal is located in the district of Südwestpfalz in Rhineland-Palatinate .

The approximately 22 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 1983 , is located in the district of Fischbach bei Dahn . It extends north of the Fischbach community for a length of about 2.6 km along the Fischbach in a north-west direction. To the north of the protected area in the Fischbach valley, which is also called Fischbrunnertal there, there was originally the Wolfsägerhof, a remote farm belonging to Lemberg . This farm was laid out around 1770 and was inhabited until it was abandoned in 1957. Its buildings were demolished in 1958, and today there is a youth camp site with a fortified hut.

The protective purpose of the Wolfsägertal is to maintain and secure near-natural to natural plant communities in the reservoirs. These include the floating leaf corridors and the siltation zone in the pond on the Nollenkopf , in the Fischbach and in the surrounding reed and meadow areas. Rare and endangered animal populations in the area are also to be preserved.

The measures are intended to promote the diversity of the area, both for scientific reasons and because of the rarity and endangerment of communities and habitats as well as because of the contribution to shaping the landscape and its uniqueness and beauty.
