The Monbijou nature reserve is located in the Südwestpfalz district in Rhineland-Palatinate .

The approximately 26 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 1978 , extends northwest of the local community Dietrichingen . The area borders directly on the Zweibrücken airfield to the west . The state road 480 and the district road K 13 run to the east and the Hornbach flows to the south-east .

The protection purpose is the preservation of the area with its dry grassland , its semi-arid grassland , its forest edge and forest communities as locations of rare plant species and plant communities and as a habitat for rare animal species.
