The Zeppelinhalde nature reserve is located in the Südwestpfalz district in Rhineland-Palatinate .
The 14.259 hectare area, a juniper heap , which was placed under nature protection in 1942 , is located west of the local community of Nothweiler . The location of the nature reserve can be limited to the east by the tree line to the agricultural meadows of the municipality of Nothweiler and to the west by the mountain saddle ( 441 m ) between the Schloßberg ( 570 m ) with the Wegelnburg and the Kuhnenkopf ( 531 m ) south and the altitude around 350 m below the Kuhnenkopf to the north. The nature reserves Brauntal and Königsbruch extend to the northwest . The state border with France runs not far to the southeast .
