The 1997/98 season was the 16th edition of the highest English women's ice hockey league , the Women's Premier Ice Hockey League . The league is run by the English Ice Hockey Association , the English association under the umbrella of the British ice hockey association Ice Hockey UK . The winner received the Chairman's Cup . The Sunderland Scorpions won the title for the third time in a row.

mode

Initially, all teams played a simple round with a return leg. The four best reached the semifinals. The games lasted 3 × 15: 00 minutes. There were two points for a win and one point for a draw.

Division 1

The Women's National Ice Hockey League is the second tier of the English women 's ice hockey league after the Premier League. Division 1 is the highest class in it. It is divided into two regional groups.
