World Team Challenge 2009

The 8th World Team Challenge 2009 (officially: ODLO-Biathlon-WTC 09 ) was a biathlon competition that took place on December 28, 2009 in the Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen .

Last year's winning team with Andrij Derysemlja and Oxana Chwostenko finished this year's race in second place. The winner was the German-Austrian team with Christoph Sumann and Kati Wilhelm , who beat the runner-up by 13.7 seconds with the closest time gap in the history of the event. For Sumann it was already the second start with a German team partner after he narrowly lost the race with Martina Beck last year .

Attendees

A total of ten teams with participants from ten nations started. While only one mixed national team competed last year, this year three mixed teams competed. For the first time in the history of the event, only two teams from Germany and Norway started.
