The XVI. District of Budapest is located in the northeast part of Pest on the city limits.

history

On January 1, 1950, the large communities of Cinkota, Mátyásföld, Rákosszentmihály and Sashalom and parts of Csömör as XVI. District incorporated into Budapest.

traffic

The M0 motorway (ring road around Budapest) runs along the north-eastern border of the district. The national road 3 (út Veres Péter, Szabadföld út) passes through the district from the center in the direction Gödöllö and Miskolc , as well as the lines 8 (in the direction Gödöllö) and 9 (in the direction Csömör ) of the electric train HEV .

economy

In 1895 Imre Uhri founded a forge and car factory ( Uhri Imre Kovács - és Kocsigyártó Üzeme ). The bus manufacturer Ikarus developed from this .

education

The Faculty of Foreign Trade of the Budapest University of Economics is located in the district.

There is a chocolate museum in Árpádföld.
