Yenişehir is a city in the district of the same name in the Turkish province of Bursa and at the same time a district of the Büyükşehir belediyesi Bursa (metropolitan municipality / metropolitan province ) created in 1986 . The city is located about 50 kilometers east of the center of Bursa .
The district is in the east of the province. It borders İnegöl to the south, Kestel and Gemlik to the west, Orhangazi and İznik to the north, and Bilecik province to the east . The city is located on the D160 connecting road from Bursa to Bilecik . The river Göksu Çayı flows through the district and south of the city, which flows further east into the Sakarya , the ancient Sangarius . In the north of the district is the southern part of the Katırlı Dağları Mountains . The airport Bursa-Yenişehir ( Turkish: Bursa Yenişehir Havalimanı ) is located about five kilometers west of the district town .

The prehistoric settlement hill Menteşe Höyük is near the village of Menteşe, about ten kilometers west of Yenişehir .
