Kestel is a town in the district of the same name in the east of the Turkish province of Bursa and at the same time a district of the Büyükşehir belediyesi Bursa (metropolitan municipality / metropolitan province ) created in 1986 .
The district is located in the eastern center of the province. It is bordered by Yıldırım to the west, Gürsu to the northwest , Gemlik to the north, Yenişehir and İnegöl to the east and Osmangazi to the south . It is located south of the E 90 , which crosses the city of Bursa from west to east and , coming from Çanakkale , leads to Ankara . The main town of Kestel is located in the far west of the district, in the south is part of the Uludağ massif, and in the center of the district is Lake Gölbaşı Gölü .
