Tollwitz is a district of the city of Bad Dürrenberg in the Saalekreis in Saxony-Anhalt (Germany) and forms together with the districts of Ellerbach, Kauern, Ragwitz and Zöllschen the locality of Tollwitz.

Tollwitz lies between Merseburg and Leipzig in the valley of the Ellerbach, which is a right-hand tributary of the Saale .
history
Tollwitz was first mentioned in a document in 1253 as Talwiz . Tollwitz and its current districts of Ellerbach, Kauern, Ragwitz, Teuditz and Zöllschen belonged to the Hochstift-Merseburg office of Lützen until 1815 , which had been under Electoral Saxon sovereignty since 1561 and belonged to the secondary school principality of Saxony-Merseburg between 1656/57 and 1738 . By the resolutions of the Vienna Congress Tollwitz and its current five districts were ceded to the western part of the Office Lutzen in 1815 to Prussia and the political reorganization of Prussia in 1816 the county Merseburg in the administrative district of Merseburg of Saxony Province allocated.
The church in Zöllschen has a late Gothic tower, a nave from the years 1789/90 and a Trampeliorgel from 1790.
In 1836 the Tollwitz-Dürrenberger Feldbahn (4.5 km) was opened with the first German railway tunnel (133 m). On April 1, 1937, Teuditz was incorporated into Tollwitz. Ellerbach, Kauern, Ragwitz and Zöllschen followed on July 1, 1950.
From 1992 to 2009 Tollwitz belonged to the Bad Dürrenberg administrative community . Until it was incorporated into Bad Dürrenberg on January 1, 2010, Tollwitz was an independent municipality with the associated districts of Ellerbach, Kauern, Ragwitz and Zöllschen. The last mayor of Tollwitz was Uwe Fischer.
In the Tollwitz cemetery there is a gravestone for twelve flak soldiers who died on April 16, 1945 .

The flag was approved on February 10, 2009 by the Saalekreis.

- SV Einigkeit 05 Tollwitz eV is the traditional soccer club with over 100 members (teams: men, C-Juniors, old-active, women), as well as bowling.
- Tollwitzer Radsportverein 1900 eV is the oldest club in Tollwitz, here you can do table tennis and gymnastics in addition to cycling ball, cycling polo and cycling tours.

Tollwitz is not far from the Federal Motorway 9 , the Bad Dürrenberg exit (18) is approx. 1 kilometer away. The Alte Salzstrasse industrial park is located between Tollwitz and the motorway .
