Zundapp DB 202

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The DB 202 is a motorcycle from Zündapp Werke München GmbH. It was developed by Ernst Schmidt , built between 1951 and 1952 and sold for approx. 1350 DM.

The motorcycle emerged from the model upgrade of the DB 201 and no longer had the manual gearbox on the tank (3-speed), but a four-speed gearbox with footshift. With the draw wedge gear of the DB 202, all gears are constantly in mesh and rotate. Because of the foot switch, the motor housing had to be changed. The clutch's external release lever was placed from the top of the housing to the rear of the vertically divided motor housing. The gearshift lever runs under the engine housing on the left side of the vehicle.

On request, a Jurisch rear wheel suspension could be retrofitted to the models DB 200 , DB 201 and DB 202 (surcharge 125 DM). This rear wheel suspension was standard from the DB 203 "Comfort" .
