Zundapp K 80

The Zündapp K 80 light motorcycle from the manufacturer Zündapp was produced in three different versions from 1981 to 1984.

First version 540-010

The first version 540-010 was built from 1981 to 1982/83 and outwardly resembles the type CS 50. The frame and rear swing arm were reinforced, the frame received different beams to accommodate the larger engine block, the front fork and the front wheel were changed and the Enlarged fuel tank . The 120 mm brake drum of the CS 50 was replaced by a 220 mm disc brake system. The air-cooled engine with a displacement of 80 cm³ was taken over from the 314-060 , the Bing 21/20/115 was used as the carburetor and the Boysen 17 was used as the exhaust - as in the KS 80 and KS 80 Touring.

Second version 540-011

The second version 540-011 was built in 1983; Compared to the -010, the brake disc diameter has been increased from 220 mm to 240 mm, and the frame, rear , seat and side covers have been changed. In addition, the bench seat could be opened using a mechanism similar to that of the KS 80 Super and KS 80 Sport, so that a small storage space is accessible in the rear.

Third version 540-200

The third version 540-200 produced in 1984 was a further developed 540-011, the frame was changed in such a way that the seat bench and thus the storage space in the rear could now be locked. The most important change was the conversion to water cooling and 12 V electrics with a 60/55 W H4 lamp in the main headlight. The beams were widened and provided with brackets for the water cooler. The 314-100 with a water-cooled 80 cm³ cylinder was installed as the engine, and the bent Boysen 27 was used as the exhaust, which was also installed on the 537 models. The speedometer and tachometer were also from the 537 models.

There have also been dozens of other changes to the K 80 models, such as reinforced rims at the front and rear and a different brake plate at the rear.
