The Zündapp Sport Combinette (series 515-004) was a small motorcycle from the Zündapp factory in Munich, which was built from 1962 to 1966.

technology

The Zündapp Sport Combinette (series 515-004) replaced the series 510 as a two-seater Mokick. Both series had a tubular frame with a cast light metal rear that was common at the time . In contrast to the 510 series with a short swing arm , the 515 model had a telescopic fork as the front suspension. The 21-inch tires were delivered in the usual size 2.75. A special feature of the 510 and 515-004 models was a rear swing arm with four suspension struts. The engine used in the Sport Combinette was the robust, fan-cooled, single-cylinder two-stroke engine with 39 mm bore and 41.8 mm stroke from the 510 series, which was powered by a 16 mm Bing carburettor with two-stroke mixture (1:25). The power was passed on to the rear wheel by means of a chain via a 3-speed draw key gear. The drum brakes (cable operated at the front, rods at the rear) had a diameter of 120 mm. The top speed of 40 km / h was adapted to the new driver license class 5 ("Mokick", without cranks, but with kick starter ), which was created on August 1, 1960 .

Notoriety

The Sport Combinette, available for the price of 1,962 DM , achieved particular fame  through Armando Rodrigues de Sá , the millionth guest worker in Germany , who received this model as a gift in September 1964. The original can be seen today in the House of History .
