The Zündapp CS25 (also Zündapp CS 25 ) is a moped from Zündapp . It was built from 1980 to 1984 and replaced the ZD 50 TS , Zündapps top moped at the time. After the factory went bankrupt and Royal Enfield bought the manufacturing rights , it was built under the name Zündapp Madras in Chennai , India until 1995 . These so-called India models are particularly unpopular among Zündapp fans. The moped is the type 448–140 (1980–1982) or 448–141 (1983–1984) of the Zündappwerke. In the same years the Zündapp Hai 25 (later renamed the CX 25) was manufactured, which is identical to the CS25 except for a few details. The Hai 25 is an enduro moped with three gears, but has spoked wheels and a raised exhaust.

Differences to the CS 50

The Zündapp CS 25 is the little sister of the Mokicks CS 50, which was built from 1979. There are the following differences, among others:

  • design-related maximum speed 25 km / h instead of 40 km / h
  • 3-speed manual shift instead of 4-speed foot shift
  • Bell instead of horn (both have bell)
  • shorter seat (no pillion seat)
  • lower engine power
  • From 1981 the CS50 had a handlebar fairing and a tachometer
  • The CS50 had indicators as standard

Innovations from 1983

The following innovations were made from the year of construction 1983 (from then type 448-141):

  • Electronic, maintenance-free ignition system
  • Halogen headlights
  • new, more curved decor of the tank, the side cover and the rear spoiler
  • Brake light with 10 watts instead of 5 watts of power
  • Speedometer lighting with 1.2 watts instead of 0.6 watts
  • no longer available ruby red (metallic red and still stratosilver)
  • Oil filling volume of the telescopic fork increased by 40 cm³
