history

The village is located in the Olsa region (also Teschner Schlesien , Polish Śląsk Cieszyński ).

It is believed to have originated in the late 14th or early 15th century. The place was first mentioned in 1574. Originally it was called Podpierściec ( Sub Pierściec ). The name Soborzi or Soborzer ( Zaborze , za - behind , borem - bór - pine forest ) appeared shortly afterwards.

Politically, the village belonged to the Duchy of Teschen , under the feudal rule of the Kingdom of Bohemia , in the Habsburg Monarchy .

After the abolition of patrimonial it formed from 1850 a community in Austrian Silesia , Bielitz district and Schwarzwasser judicial district. In the years 1880 to 1910 the population increased from 410 in 1880 to 450 in 1910, it was predominantly Polish-speaking (between 95.5% and 99.6%), German-speaking (19 or 4.5% in 1890) . In 1910 64.3% were Roman Catholic, 35% Protestant, there were four Jews.

In 1920, after the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy and the end of the Polish-Czechoslovak border war , Zaborze came to Poland. This was only interrupted by the occupation of Poland by the Wehrmacht in World War II when it was named as Zarborz .

From 1975 to 1998 Zaborze belonged to the Bielsko-Biała Voivodeship .

The Roman Catholic parish was established in 1984.
