Zahia Dahmani

Zahia Dahmani (born June 2, 1972 in Roubaix ) is a former French long-distance runner .

Life

In 1995 she was eighth at the World Half Marathon Championships in Belfort and contributed with a 15th place at the European Cross Country Championships in Alnwick to the bronze medal win of the French team. At the World Half Marathon Championships in Palma in 1996 , she finished ninth and won silver with the team. At the World Athletics Championships in Athens in 1997 , she did not reach the finish line in the 10,000 m final .

In 1998 she was at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Valencia sixth over 3000 m and came in 15th place at the World Half Marathon Championships in Uster . At the European Cross Country Championships in Ferrara , she was ninth and won silver with the team. In 1999 she finished 22nd at the World Championships in Seville over 10,000 m and won the Lille half marathon .

In 2000 she was seventh at the Rotterdam Marathon and fourth at the European Cross Country Championships in Malmö . In the following year, she finished 35th in the long distance cross-country championships in Ostend and took bronze with the French team. With a fourth place in the Paris Marathon , she qualified for the marathon of the World Championships in Edmonton , where she gave up. Then she won the Le Lion half marathon and the Venice marathon .

In 2002 she was sixth in the Berlin Marathon . 2003 followed a fourth place in the Paris half marathon and an eighth place in the Paris marathon 48th place in the marathon of the world championships in Paris / Saint-Denis . She came second in the Lausanne Marathon .

In 2004 she was again fourth in the Paris Half Marathon, and was 19th in the endurance world championships in Brussels . A fifth place in the Rotterdam Marathon was followed by victory in the Krakow Marathon .

In 2006 she was sixth in the Paris Marathon and ran at the European Championships in Gothenburg over 10,000 m in 23rd place. In 2007 she finished fourth in the Paris Half Marathon and seventh in the Paris Marathon.

In 1997 she became French champion in the 5000 m , in 1997 and 1999 in the 10,000 m, in 1997 and 2000 in the 10 km road race and in 2001 in the half marathon . In 1998 she won the national title over 3000 m indoors.

Zahia Dahmani is 1.60 m tall and weighs 49 kg. She started for the US Tourcoing and was trained first by Francis Wartel, then by Lyudmila Borissowa .
