Zaya (artist)

Zaya (born October 14, 1990 in Augsburg , bourgeois Ayaz Bozoglu) is a German dancer , dance teacher , choreographer , rapper and entrepreneur with Turkish roots. In 2014, he and his DMA crew were a finalist of the second season of the dance talent show Got To Dance and won the South German HipHop Championship as a solo in 2018.

Life

Zaya was born in Augsburg and grew up in the Oberhausen district . In his youth he played soccer for TSV Schwaben Augsburg and TSV Gersthofen, among others . He started dancing at the age of 16. In 2011 he finished his education at the Paul-Klee-Gymnasium Gersthofen with the general university entrance qualification . He then worked at Foot Locker until August 2017 , thereby financing his future self-employment and his livelihood.

TV, casting and stage shows

2012 Zaya took with his crew at DMA Yetenek Sizisiniz, the Turkish equivalent of the Super talent , in part, reaching the semifinals there. As a choreographer and dancer for the DMA “Oldmen” crew, Zaya made it into the final of Got To Dance in 2014 , with jurors Nikeata Thompson , Palina Rojinski and Howard Donald . The final was broadcast live in the cinema in Augsburg . In the same year, the group appeared as the only one of the Got To Dance acts from 2014, also on the ZDF TV garden .

In 2016 Zaya choreographed and danced at the tenth anniversary of Das Supertalent and received three yeses from Dieter Bohlen , Victoria Swarovski and Bruce Darnell for his DMA Bigmen Crew .

The oldmen concept was performed as a 90-minute musical under the name DMA Oldmen Stories 2017 in the sold-out Augsburg Parktheater . Zaya took over the artistic direction and the role of the protagonist.

Immediately after graduating from high school, Zaya opened his first dance studio with two other partners in 2011. In 2015 he founded his own fashion label for dancers (Overskill) and in 2016 organized the international workshop event European Allstar Camp under the name Dance Originals. Here he brought together names from the urban dance scene in 2016, 2017 and 2018. There were choreographers and dancers from Beyonce , Justin Bieber , Justin Timberlake and Rihanna , among others . In 2016 and 2017 he expanded with the DMA Dance Studios and opened two more locations in southern Germany. In 2018, Zaya took over another dance school in Weilheim in Upper Bavaria and expanded its portfolio to four studios. In 2019 the artist also started making music and released his first song on all known streaming portals without label support.
