Zemling is a village and cadastral community of the market community Hohenwarth-Mühlbach am Manhartsberg in Lower Austria with 200 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020).
geography
The place is on the east side of Manhartsberg , from which it extends to the east. The Retzer Straße runs along the Manhartsberg past the place and gave new impulses for development, so that the place now also developed along the Retzer Straße.
history
The oldest mention of the place comes from the year 1120, when the place was still called Cemerleup or Cemiliub . This name is of Slavic origin. The Veste Zemling was destroyed in the 15th century and not rebuilt. Today the parish church is located there .
After the reforms of 1848/1849 , Zemling was constituted as an independent municipality in 1850 and was assigned to the Ravelsbach district until 1868 .
