The center Liberal modernity is a German think tank , the 2017 from the Greens -Politiker-couple Marieluise Beck and Ralf Fücks was founded. Since 2019, the center has received financial support from the federal budget as part of institutional funding .

Alignment

The center advocates Germany's ties to the West and transatlantic relations between Europe and North America. Projects

With initial support from the International Renaissance Foundation , the center operates the “Understanding Ukraine” themed portal, which it uses to promote “critical sympathy for Ukraine”. Ukraine describes the center as the central arena of the conflict between democracy and authoritarianism. The thematic portal “Understanding Ukraine” is now being funded by Engagement Global with funds from the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

The expert commission “Security in Transition”, financed by the Baden-Württemberg Foundation and chaired by Ralf Fücks, developed recommendations on how liberal democracies can react to fundamental changes caused by digitization, globalization and migration.

The project “Liberal Democracy and its Opponents” examines the history of ideas of anti-liberal thinking and will live from the Federal Ministry of Family Affairs from the Federal Democracy Program! and the Federal Agency for Civic Education .

The center has the legal form of a non-profit GmbH . Ralf Fücks is a full-time managing director.
