The petite vetch ( Vicia parviflora ), also called small-flowered vetch , is a species of the genus vetch ( Vicia ) in the subfamily of butterflies (Faboideae) within the legume family (Fabaceae).

Vegetative characteristics
The delicate vetch grows as a perennial herbaceous plant and reaches heights of 15 to 60 centimeters. The prostrate to climbing stem is hairy or hairless. The alternate leaves are pinnate with two to four pairs of leaflets and tendrils . The leaflets are linear. The stipules are designed the same.
Generative characteristics
The flowering period extends from June to July. The inflorescence contains only one, rarely two to five flowers, is light purple above, tapering into an awn . The hermaphroditic butterfly flowers are zygomorphic and five-fold with a double flower envelope at a height of 6 to 9 millimeters . The calyx teeth are unequal in length. The five petals are pale blue.
The fruit stalks are longer than the bract , with a length of up to 8 centimeters . The bald or hairy legume contains five to eight seeds. The seed umbilicus has 1/8 the circumference of the seed.
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 14.
Occurrence
The Zierliche Wicke populates loamy fields and moderately dry ruderal areas , it avoids lime.
The Zierliche Vicke occurs in Germany in Bavaria , northern Baden-Württemberg , in the southeast of Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland , possibly in southern Hesse ; in Thuringia , in Saxony-Anhalt , in Brandenburg with Berlin (on the Oder and Elbe), in Lower Saxony with Bremen and in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .
