Risa Tabata is a video game assistant producer and coordinator at Nintendo.
Early life[edit]
Tabata was born in Osaka and graduated from Osaka University.[1]
Career[edit]
Tabata was an assistant producer on the Metroid Prime trilogy.[2]
She was a co-producer of Paper Mario: Color Splash.[3] In contrast to a traditional Mario game, she said "All these different people got together in meetings room and basically very, very diligently and seriously thought of how we could do the stupidest, craziest things possible."[4]
She was director for Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, and added Dixie as a partner character with extra lift when her ponytail whips around.[5]
As assistant producer for Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash, she talked about development of the whip and swing mechanic.[6] She said they can progress with a game if they can see the fun element. She has worked on many other games.[7]
