Template:Infobox musical artist 2 Marques Barrett Houston (born on August 4, 1981 in Los Angeles, California) is an American R&B singer and actor. Houston's 3rd album, Veteran, was the number one R&B album in the country and Number 5 on the Hot 100 chart. Since he release Naked, it was a lot deeper then his debut, MH.

Early life

Houston and his Immature members attended the same Brentwood school. They decided to enter a talent show together where they were discovered and signed on to Hook Management. Their parents were not sure if this was the right option for them because of their age. At this time, all of the members were between 10 and 11 years old. In the end, they decided to go for it. Before Houston joined Immature, he met Omarion when he was 6. Houston considers Omarion to be his half-brother. Houston was also taught by his mother to read and sing like his father (which appeared on his Veteran album on the track "Intro"). [citation needed]

Music career

Immature/IMx

In 1991, Houston formed the group Immature with his childhood friends, Jerome "Romeo" Jones and Don "Half Pint" Santos. Chris Stokes became the manager of the group. They released their debut album, On Our Worst Behavior on September 26, 1992. The original members were Marques "Batman" Houston, Jerome "Romeo" Jones and Don "Half Pint" Santos. The album met with dismal sales and Don "Half Pint" Santos left the group due to the demands of his parents.

After being discovered by Marques "Batman" Houston, Kelton "LDB" Kessee joined Immature. His name "LDB" (Little Drummer Boy) comes from his skills with the drums. After regrouping, they released their second album, Playtyme Is Over on August 4, 1994. Then they released We Got It on December 1, 1995 and The Journey on September 23, 1997. Immature also had release "Watch Me Do My Thing" in the previous 1997 year from the soundtrack movie, Good Burger

In 1998 The group changed their name to IMx, because they felt matured personally and musically. They released their first album, Introducing IMx on October 26, 1999. They only release one single, "Stay The Night". Then last release album, IMx on July 3, 2001. The singles were "First Time", "Clap Your Hands", and "Beautiful You Are".

In mid-2002, IMx mutually disbanded because the members wanted to move on and do different things creatively.

Solo career

In late 2002, Houston inked a record deal with TUG/Universal Records and embarked upon his journey of becoming a relevant R&B soloist. Houston recorded and released his first solo album, MH on October 21, 2003. His first single was "That Girl" was only release in United States. Then "Clubbin", "Pop That Booty", and "Because of You" are release in worldwide. He was also featured on Young Rome's song and seen on video "After Party" with Omarion in 2004.

Houston released his second solo effort, Naked on May 24, 2005. The singles were "All Because of You" (Ft. Young Rome, his former bandmate), "Naked", and "Sex With You". This album was only release in the Nationwide. He was also featured on 50 Cent's remix to the hit single "Candy Shop" and also featured Dame Four and seen on video "How We Roll".

In 2006, He was also featured in his fellow TUG artist Mila J's single "Good Lookin' Out" and on Yung Joc's single "1st Time" with Trey Songz as well seen on both their videos.

Houston return to the studio to work on the third studio album that will release on November 14, 2006 then pushed off to March 20, 2007, because he took time to grieve after the death of his grandmother. Houston was going to release under name Lights Out until it was changed to Veteran, because felt personally in music of his life for years. The singles were, "Favorite Girl", "Circle", and "Wonderful". This album was also release in nationwide and became far successful.

Tours and Shows

Houston was at the 30th Annual American Music Awards on January 13, 2003 to introduce B2k's performance, also he performed "That Girl" at the 16th Annual Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards combined with B2k's "Girlfriend" on April 12, 2003 and then at the 3rd Annual BET Awards as presenter with LaToya Jackson and Lisa Raye on June 23, 2003. He also was on the Scream Tour with Nick Cannon, B2K, Mario, and Bow Wow.

Houston kicks off to the Scream Tour in the summer of 2005 and tour with Omarion called, We Ain't Done Yet HollaDay Jam Tour in December of 2005. Houston also performed at the S.O.S: The BET Telethon Relief Show on September 9, 2005 and 103.5 The Beat Down Concert 2005 on November 15, 2005. Houston was also aired on MTV TRL on September 20, 2005 with Ryan Cabrera.

Houston was a presenters at the Radio One Presents 2nd Annual Dirty Awards on October 9, 2006 and performed at the Hot 107.9 Atlanta Ladies Night Out on October 19, 2006.

Marques Houston was interview at the BET's 106 & Park on January 25, 2007. Houston had also performed "Circle" at the 21st Annual Soul Train Awards on March 10, 2007. Houston was performing at the HOT 102.7 Summer Jamz X on June 2, 2007 and HOT 107.9 Birthday Bash XXII on June 16, 2007.

Acting career

Houston was featured on Bebe's Kids as the voice actor for the character named Kahlil. Houston and his Bandmates from Immature also sang the title song "Tear It Up (On Our Worst Behavior)" which is featured on Immature's debut album.

He appeared on a two part episode of A Different World with his fellow group mates Jerome "Romeo" Jones and Don "Half Pint" Santos of Immature. The episode centered around the character Whitley's first day as a teacher and Immature played 3 rowdy children that give her a hard time. His first appearance was in House Party 3 along with Immature.

Houston played the role of "Roger Evans" on the TV series Sister, Sister. It was a running gag in the series for any other character to become frustrated and yell "Go Home, Roger!". As the Roger character, he often meant well but ended up annoying the twins, whom he pined for during each episode, in fact Immature actually guest starred at the end one episode, during the main episode "Roger" constantly insisted he looked like Houston in an attempt to impersonate him on stage, leading to confusion when the real Houston turns up. For this episode Houston ended up playing both himself and Roger, then Houston would eventually leave the series in 1998 to focus on his music career.

He appeared on Good Burger and House Party 4: Down to the Last Minute, along with IMx bandmates.

Houston also appeared with Omarion on several film. They were on You Got Served and also leads Take It to the Streets, Fat Albert, and the horror movie, Somebody Help Me. They also were featured on an episode of Punk'd about a pregnant woman and spin off One on One. Houston starred as Kevin Barnes in the sitcom Cuts started on February 14, 2005 and end it on May 11, 2006. They had also set for the productions of "Backdown" which it will release sometime in 2008.
