Parramore Sports FC were established in 1936 just 12 years after F Parramore & Sons, ironfounders, were incorporated as a limited company. They played in the works league from 1936 until 1972 and even continued to play football during the second world war by arranging friendly matches being as much of the workforce were in reserved occupations manufacturing steel for the war effort.

In 1972 they progressed to Barnsley Junior League where they had immediate success winning the league and cup in their first season before going back to Works League in 1975. The major change started in 1977 when they qualified for the Amateur League having been under the guidance of Peter Hodkin as manager from the successful 1971/2 campaign and following success at that level the team progressed to the highly rated County Senior League in 1985/6 season.


Success was soon to follow and whilst under Pete Hodkin?s tutelage they reached the Premier Division and when Pete stepped down in 1991 Bob Webster took over as team manager with Pete Hodkin taking over as Chairman. Further successful years followed under Bob?s guidance but eventually, in the 1996/7 season Parramores went down to the 1st Division where they have stayed since.


A succession of managers followed, all of whom did a sterling job in keeping the team away from relegation in a difficult climate and maintaining the lineage of the club. More recently current Chairman, Graeme Hinchliffe took over the reins and guided the team to 5th in the 2007/8 season, just missing out on promotion by 4 points.


The start of the 2008/9 season heralds a new era with a move to Central Midlands League being headed by successful County Senior manager Pete Whitehead, assisted by Steve Smith. Parramores also have a team in the County Senior with a welcome return as manager to Bob Webster ably assisted by Hallam FC academy coach Neil Travis.


The club history has been kept together in word and deed by Parramore stalwart and now Vice Chairman, Peter Hodkin, who received a special Football Merit Award from the local FA for in excess of 50 years involvement with the club. The new era is backed by sponsors Windsor Food Service Ltd and things at Parramore Sports look set to continue onwards and upwards for another 70 years.
