The Austrian Women's Football Cup was in the 1979/80 season under the name Women's World Cup , hosted by the Vienna Football Association, played for the eighth time. USC Landhaus won the trophy for the fourth time.
Participating teams
For the Austrian women's soccer cup, the following 11 (!!) teams, which are classified according to the season placement of the women's league East I 1978/79 , and the newly founded women's league East II would have qualified based on the participation of the leagues of the 1979/80 season. Teams that are marked as crossed out participated in the 1978/79 season, were not eligible to play in the championship that season or are second teams and therefore did not play for the cup.
