The Austrian Women's Soccer Cup was played for the 25th time in the 1998/99 season. As the ÖFB Women's Cup , it was held for the seventh time by the Austrian Football Association . Union Kleinmünchen won the cup for the sixth time.

For the Austrian Women's Football Cup of the 1998-99 season following 23 teams after the season placement have reference to the participation of the leagues Women's Bundesliga in 1997/98 , the 2nd Division East 1997/98 and the Regional League West 1997/98 listed are qualified. Teams that are marked as crossed out did not take part in the competition for various reasons or are second teams and therefore did not play for the cup. Tournament course

1st cup round

In the first round of the cup, the national league champions or vice-champions and the second division teams met. Of the home teams, only ASK Klagenfurt and, surprisingly, SC Brunn am Gebirge could not make use of the space advantage, but only had to admit defeat in the penalty shootout. There was a 16-0 debacle for SC Stattersdorf at PSV / SW Salzburg.

2nd cup round

The Bundesliga clubs and the Bundesliga relegated DFC Heidenreichstein only started in the second round of the cup. PSV / SW Salzburg hit the headlines again with a 5-3 win over ESV Süd-Ost. The second Bundesliga team to drop out was SG FFC Tirol / IAC, which had to admit defeat at SV Garsten in the penalty shootout. The later champions Union Kleinmünchen, on the other hand, had no problems as they won 13-0 against the surprise winner SC St. Ruprecht / Raab.

Quarter finals

The Bundesliga relegated DFC Heidenreichstein had to admit defeat 1: 2 against the state division PSV Schwarz-Weiß Salzburg. USC Landhaus, SV Neulengbach and Union Kleinmünchen won their games as expected.

Semifinals

In the semifinals there was a big duel between Union Kleinmünchen and the later runner-up SV Neulengbach, which the Linz women won 4-2 after a thrilling fight.

In the final, which was held in Würmla in Lower Austria , against USC Landhaus, the champions had far less trouble and secured the double with a clear 6-0 win.
