Skiff at Lowell Observatory , Anderson Mesa Station ( Anderson Mesa ) near Flagstaff , Arizona ( IAU code 688).

designation

(2881) Meiden was named after Meiden , the god of rabbits , animals and forests from Lithuanian mythology . The naming was made by the Minor Planet Names Committee on the basis of a proposal by the American astronomer Frederick Pilcher .
