- 1307 : End of the Templar Order - Its members are imprisoned all over France by Guillaume de Nogaret at the behest of Philip the Fair .
- 1308 : Breakthrough in surgery - In Venice , permission is granted for the first time in Europe to dissect a corpse.
- 1309 , March : Pope Clement V moves the seat of the Pope and the Curia to Avignon . This is the beginning of the so-called Babylonian captivity (until 1376 ).
- 1309, April 30th : Counts Otto, Hermann and Albert von Eberstein grant the town of Naugard town charter according to Luebian law .
