The 1997/98 season of the 2nd women's volleyball division was the twenty-second edition of this competition.

2nd Bundesliga North

TvdB Bremen became champions and promoted to the 1st Bundesliga , while the second-placed SCU Emlichheim also rose. VC Marl had to relegate, and Marzahn, Vechta, Hörde and Glinde also withdrew after the season.
