This article covers the 2009/10 season of the 2nd Floorball Bundesliga .

General

The second Bundesliga was facing some game changes in the 2009/2010 season: After separating from SG BA Tempelhof , the Unihockey Bären Berlin started in the 2nd Bundesliga (East Season). In addition, the ESV Ingolstadt was included in the eight-team East relay. The relegated team of the Löwen Leipzig II and the promoted Red Devils Wernigerode were no longer there . In the newly created North Season, several new teams started: VfR Seebergen (last season SG Seebergen-Vahrenwald), TV Lilienthal, Westfälischer FBC (UHC Münster & TV Südkamen) and SSF Dragons Bonn. The second Bundesliga thus starts for the first time in a season with two stable seasons and a record number of 15 teams.

Also in the 2009/2010 season there were two seasons in the 2nd Bundesliga with the East and the newly created North. The main round was played in a single round with a return game. The two best teams of each season then qualified for the playoffs.

In the North Season, six teams played against each other in a round trip. In the East Season eight teams played in the same mode.

Playoffs

As in previous years, the two best teams of both seasons took part in the playoffs. The SSF Dragons Bonn, the Floor Fighters Chemnitz, the TV Lilienthal and the Saalebiber Halle had qualified. The games were played according to the best-of-three mode. The two finalists then determined the second division champions. Both teams were entitled to participate in the relegation games for promotion to the 1st Bundesliga.

The SG Adelsberg Floor Fighters Chemnitz secured the championship in the 2nd Bundesliga in 2009/10.
