history

The company was founded in 1931 as the Zig-Zag Factory Rudolf Wild in Heidelberg by Rudolf Wild and his wife Leonie Wild and relocated to the neighboring Eppelheim six years later. In 1951 the lemonade brand Libella was introduced. In 1956, Wild took over the Hamburg SiSi-Werke , which was one of the most important essence producers in Germany before the war and started producing and selling Capri-Sonne in 1969 . In 1974 Hans-Peter Wild joined the parents' company; this continuously drove the international expansion of the company and in particular of the Capri-Sonne brand and turned the originally German company into a global group. In preparation for possible access to the capital markets, in 2010 Hans-Peter Wild sold shares in Rudolf Wild GmbH & Co. KG to the financial investor Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co .; The company was set up as a subsidiary of Wild Flavors GmbH based in Zug , Switzerland .

In July 2014, Hans-Peter Wild and the US investor KKR sold the Swiss parent company Wild Flavors GmbH and the Nauen-based manufacturer of fruit preparations WILD Dairy Ingredients GmbH to the US group Archer Daniels Midland at a price of 2.3 billion euros.

Hans-Peter Wild remained the sole owner of ARIOS Holding, to which, among others, the Deutsche SiSi-Werke, Capri-Sun AG (thus all companies operating worldwide under the Capri-Sonne or Capri-Sun brand ) and INDAG GmbH & Co. Betriebs KG (Wild’s technology subsidiary).
