Ahmed Baday

Ahmed Ibrahim Baday (* 1974 ) is a former Moroccan long-distance runner .

Life

So far, he has taken part in the World Cross Country Championship nine times and won a medal with the team three times: silver in 1999 in Belfast and bronze in Lausanne / Avenches in 2003, each with a 15th place in the individual ranking and in 2007 in Mombasa with an 18th place in the Individual evaluation.

In 2001 he won gold over 10,000 m at the Francophonie Games and bronze at the Mediterranean Games . In 2005 he won bronze at the Francophonie Games over the same distance, and in 2007 he was eliminated from the 5000 m at the World Athletics Championships in Osaka in the preliminary run.

In 2008 he was ninth in the Hamburg Marathon . The following year he finished second in the Rabat Half Marathon, third in the Ottawa Marathon , won gold in the Mediterranean Games Half Marathon in Pescara and came 49th in the World Half Marathon Championships in Birmingham . In 2010 he finished third in the Marrakech Marathon and won the Yangzhou Jianzhen Half Marathon .

In 2011 he won the Beppu-Ōita marathon .

The IAAF announced on March 6, 2015 that Baday was banned for two years due to a violation of the anti-doping rules in the biological passport until December 30, 2016. Its results since March 26, 2010 have been canceled.
