Ahna O'Reilly (born September 21, 1984 in Palo Alto , California ) is an American actress .

Career

Ahna O'Reilly attended Menlo School in Atherton , near her native Palo Alto, which she graduated in 2003. At a young age she made the decision to become an actress and took acting lessons in San Francisco while still at school . After graduating from high school, she studied for a year at the University of Southern California , which she left early to concentrate on her acting career.

In 2003 she had her first role in front of the camera, with an appearance in the movie Bill the Intern . Then she was in science fiction - Horror Dinocroc to see. After other small film roles, including in Good Time Max , Nancy Drew - Girl Detective and Never Again Sex with the Ex , she made guest appearances in the series CSI: NY , Unhitched and Vampire Diaries .

In 2011 she starred as Elizabeth Leefolt in the drama The Help . Her leading actress helped her current friend Octavia Spencer to the casting . The cast received multiple awards, including Best Ensemble, including the Screen Actors Guild Award and the Satellite Award . In 2013, she took on supporting roles in the film dramas Next Stop: Fruitvale Station and Jobs .

In 2014 she appeared in the comedy Broadway Therapy in the role of Elizabeth . A year later she starred in the dramedy No Way Jose alongside Adam Goldberg and Emily Osment one of the leading roles. In 2016 O'Reilly starred as Mary Anne Peterson in the film drama Elvis & Nixon and she also played a central role in All I See Is You as Carol . She has since played supporting roles in Stormy Harvest - In Dubious Battle , Marshall , Totem and The Friend . In 2017 she appeared in the series Kingdom as Amy in a recurring role. In total, her work includes more than 50 productions.

Personal

O'Reilly was in a relationship with actor and director James Franco for almost five years until 2011 .
