Aimee Carrero (born July 15, 1988 in Santo Domingo ) is a Dominican - American actress and voice actress .

Life

Aimee Carrero was born in July 1988 in the Dominican capital Santo Domingo and grew up in Miami ( Florida ) from the age of six . There she attended Archbishop Coleman F. Carroll High School until her graduation in 2006. In 2008 she graduated from Florida International University with a Magna cum laude degree in international relations .

Carrero played her first roles in 2007 in the two short films The Essential Man and Category 4 , before she was seen in a small supporting role in Alvin and the Chipmunks 2 in 2009 . In the same year she appeared as Sylvia Torres in four episodes of the youth series Lincoln Heights . She then played guest roles in various television series until 2011 , including Hannah Montana , The Mentalist (both 2009), The Middle , Greek (both 2010) and Zeke and Luther (2011). On November 23, 2011, the television film Level Up with Carrero in the role of Angie was broadcast on Cartoon Network , from which the action series of the same name emerged a year later . In this series, she continued her role from the film and was finally seen in all 39 episodes until the end of the series in February 2013. Already in 2012 she starred in the Lifetime television film Blue Lagoon: Lifeless In Love , a film adaptation of Henry De Vere Stacpoole's novel The Blue Lagoon from 1908. In December 2012 she also made her off-Broadway debut in the Atlantic Theater play What Rhymes with America Company .

In January 2014, Carrero portrayed Samantha's best friend in the horror film Devil’s Due, about the couple Zach ( Zach Gilford ) and Samantha McCall ( Allison Miller ) who become part of a strange ritual during their honeymoon in the Dominican Republic . In the second season of the FX drama series The Americans , she took on the supporting role of Chena , a Sandinista freedom fighter, in four episodes .
