Akerninnaq [ aˌkɜnːinːɑ (q) ] (according to the old spelling Akernínaĸ ; Kitaamiusut Akorninnaq ; also Tiilerilaarmiit ) is a waste fallen Greenland settlement in the district Ammassalik in the Sermersooq .

location

Akerninnaq is located on the south coast of the Mjølner peninsula in southeast Greenland. In front of Akerninnaq is the Tiilerilaap Kangertiva bay , which flows into the Akerninnaap Oqqummut Kangertiva fjord .

history

Akerninnaq is part of the settlements belonging to Skjoldungen . Akerninnaq was settled in 1938 at the earliest and 1940 at the latest. In 1943 there were 12 residents. Between 10 and 25 people lived at the place of residence in the following years up to 1954. Akerninnaq was given up no later than 1964.
