Akerninnaq [ aˌkɜnːinːɑ (q) ] (according to the old spelling Akernínaĸ ; Kitaamiusut Akorninnaq ) is a waste fallen Greenland settlement in the district Ammassalik in the Sermersooq .

location

Akerninnaq is located on the east coast of the Sermilik fjord on the north-western tip of Ammassalik Ø . Tiilerilaaq is the closest town, 13 km to the north- northeast .

history

In 1930 there were 35 people in Akerninnaq. The population then fell. 15 residents are known from 1951, five of whom were school children. In 1957 the living space was given up.
