Iissalik [ ˈiːt͡sːaɾi (k) ] (according to the old spelling Îgssalik ; also Inissalik ) is a desolate Greenlandic settlement in the Ammassalik district in the Sermersooq municipality .

location

Iissalik is located on the east coast of a small island of the same name . Isertoq is just 1.8 km northeast.

history

Thirteen residents were counted in Iissalik in 1930. In the years that followed, the population ranged from eight to sixteen people. In 1951 there were nine, four of whom were educated children. In 1959 the last residents left Iissalik.
