Umittuartiit [ uˌmitːuɑtːiːt ] (according to the old spelling Umigtuartît ; Kitaamiusut Umittuarsuit ) is a waste fallen Greenland settlement in the district Ammassalik in the Sermersooq .
location
Umittuartiit is located in a small bay in an area rich in islands on the west bank of the Sermilik . On the opposite side of the fjord is located ten kilometers east Tiilerilaaq .
history
In 1940 31 people lived in Umittuartiit. The number fluctuated between 12 and 49 residents in the 1940s. In 1951, 21 residents of the residential area are occupied, four of whom were schooled children. A little later the living space was given up.
