Pikiittit [ pikiːtːit ] (according to the old spelling Pikîgtit ; Kitaamiusut Pikiullit ) is a waste fallen Greenland settlement in the district Ammassalik in the Sermersooq .

location

Pikiittit is located on a narrow headland in the northern part of the area around the Ikeq (Køge Bugt).

history

Pikiittit was settled in 1961. The inhabitants came from the settlements of Skjoldungen and moved north around 1960, where they also settled Umiivik . In the first year 16 people lived at the residential area. The number then rose to a maximum of 32 people. In 1971, Pikittit and Umiivik were abandoned, while Skjoldungen had been abandoned since 1964.
