Albert Andrejewitsch Mokejew ( Russian Альберт Андреевич Мокеев ; born January 4, 1936 in Vladimir , † February 27, 1969 in Moscow ) was a modern Soviet pentathlete .
Career
In his only Olympic participation , the 1964 Games in Tokyo , he secured a medal in both individual and team competitions. In the individual, he won the bronze medal behind Ferenc Török and Igor Novikow . With the team, to which besides Mokeev and Novikow also belonged Viktor Mineev , he became Olympic champion . A year later he won the Soviet championship.
With the Soviet team he was runner- up in 1963 and 1965 . He died on February 27, 1969 at the age of 33 and was buried in the Preobrazhensky Cemetery in Moscow.
