Viktor Alexandrowitsch Minejew ( Russian Виктор Александрович Минеев ; born May 18, 1937 in Varwa , Ukrainian SSR ; † February 22, 2002 in Moscow ) was a Soviet pentathlete .
Career
In his only participation in the Olympics, the 1964 Games in Tokyo , he missed a medal win with fifth place in the individual. With the team, which included Minejew and Igor Novikow and Albert Mokejew , he became Olympic champion .
With the Soviet team he was runner- up in 1963 and 1966 . He also won another runner-up title in 1966 when he only had to admit defeat to András Balczó .
