Ferenc Németh (Modern Pentathlon)
Ferenc Németh (born April 4, 1936 in Budapest ) is a former Hungarian modern pentathlon who won two Olympic gold medals in 1960.
He started in 1954 with the club Csepel SC with the modern pentathlon. He won his only major title at the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome, when he defeated his compatriot Imre Nagy with 5024 points with 4988 points. In the team competition, the two of them together with fourth-placed András Balczó won gold in front of the team from the Soviet Union. After his career, Németh became a fencing coach.
