Albert Heinrich von der Osten (born March 1, 1811 in Geiglitz , Regenwalde district , † September 16, 1887 in Berlin ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

Albert von der Osten came from the noble family von der Osten . He was the youngest son of the landowner Lupold von der Osten (1776–1823) and his wife Sabine, née von Mellenthin (1784–1861). The marriage was divorced and his mother married Ludwig von Briesen , district administrator of the Schivelbein district, for the second time . His father was a prime lieutenant a. Military career

On October 3, 1825, Osten joined the Prussian Army's 14th Infantry Regiment as a volunteer and was promoted to Second Lieutenant by mid-December 1832 .
