Albrecht Karl von Burski (born April 12, 1785 in Narzym ; † June 13, 1849 in Frankfurt (Oder) ) was a Prussian major general and commander of the 11th Infantry Brigade .

Life

His parents were Bartholomäus von Burski (1744-1812) and his wife Evan von Burski († 1811).

Military career

Burski visited the cadet houses in Kulm and Berlin . On April 16, 1804 he was transferred as an ensign with a patent from February 19, 1804 to the infantry regiment "von Grawert" of the Prussian Army . In the Fourth Coalition War , Burski fought in the Battle of Jena and came to Magdeburg Fortress on the retreat . When the fortress surrendered, he was captured. On February 5, 1807 he was re-employed in the 2nd West Prussian Reserve Battalion. On December 6, 1807 he was promoted to second lieutenant and was made inactive the following year with half pay .

In 1811 he was transferred to the Reserve Battalion in Pillau . In 1812 he was employed as a stage commander in Labiau . On December 20, 1812, Burski joined the gendarmerie . For a short time he was active in the 2nd Littaui Fusilier Reserve Battalion before Burski was transferred to the 3rd Reserve Infantry Regiment No. 15 on July 1, 1813. During the Wars of Liberation he found himself at the blockade of Stettin, the Battle of Dennewitz and the battles at Blankenfelde, Zahna, Mühlberg and Dessau, where he earned the Iron Cross 2nd class. Burski married on May 1, 1815 in Eisersdorf (Glatz district) Karoline Antonie Friederike Rogalla von Bieberstein (1795-1859). She was the eldest daughter of Rogalla von Bieberstein zu Eisersdorf and his wife Wilhelmine von Borck. Several children emerged from the marriage:
