Alexander von Keudell

Alexander Moritz Jakob Gustav von Keudell (born January 16, 1861 in Schwebda , † June 24, 1939 in Göttingen ) was a German administrative officer, manor owner and politician.

origin

His parents were the owner of Schwebda Rudolf Karl Wilhelm Friedrich Ferdinand von Keudell (* July 23, 1828; † August 11, 1878) and his wife Marie Ottilie Charlotte Josine Dorothea von Eschwege from the Jestedt house (* February 23, 1832 ; † 29 November 1900 ). After the death of his father, his mother married Major a on June 8, 1882. D. Ferdinand Johann Ludwig von Eschwege on Reichensachsen (* December 28, 1820 in Reichensachsen ; † April 23, 1899 in Reichensachsen ).

Life

Alexander von Keudell graduated from the Abitur in 1880 at the Ilfeld Abbey School and then studied law at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen . In 1881 he became a member of the Corps Suevia Tübingen . After completing his studies, he entered the Prussian civil service and was District Administrator of the Eschwege district from 1893 to 1919 . Since 1901 he was the owner of the Keudelstein estate .

Wolfsbrunnen Castle

Keudell was the Prussian Chamberlain , President of the Chamber of Agriculture Kurhessen and Vice-Marshal of the Knighthood of Old Hessen . He was a member of the Kassel municipal parliament , of which he was president from 1918 to 1919, from 1921 to 1929 and from 1931 to 1932. In the Prussian military he reached the rank of captain of the guard and belonged to the Order of St. John as a legal knight. He was married to Louise Henschel. As a gift from his wife's family, he had Wolfsbrunnen Castle built between 1904 and 1907 .

He married Louise Henschel on June 23, 1886 (* July 13, 1865, † 1951), daughter of the industrialist Oscar Henschel . The couple had the following children:
