Alfred Rohde (politician)
Alfred Rohde (born April 21, 1921 in Dresden ; † January 30, 1990 ) was a German politician . He was a member of the Central Committee (ZK) of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED) and first secretary of the SED area leadership in Wismut Karl-Marx-Stadt .
Life
Rohde was born the son of a locksmith and a factory worker. He attended elementary and vocational school until Easter 1935 . Between April 1935 and February 1939 he learned the trade of machine fitter , then he worked in this profession from March 1939 to October 1940 in Dresden and from October 1940 to March 1942 in Leipzig . From March 1942 to May 1945 he did military service in the Wehrmacht . From May to September 1945 Rohde was a British prisoner of war in Schleswig-Holstein . After his release he worked again as a machine fitter in Dresden until December 1950.
In September 1945 he joined the Social Democratic Party of Germany , in 1946 he became a member of the SED. He also joined the Free German Trade Union Federation in 1946 . From 1946 to 1950 he was BGL chairman and, after attending the state party school "Ernst Thälmann" in Meißen, from January to November 1951 he was secretary of the basic SED organization at VEB Universelle-Werke Dresden and a member of an SED district leadership in Dresden. From December 1951 to June 1952 he was head of the organization and instructor department of the SED district leadership in Dresden and from July 1952 to February 1953 head of the department of party organs and mass organizations of the SED district leadership Dresden-Land
From February 1953 to September 1955 he took part in the first three-year course at the party college "Karl Marx" . He completed his studies as a social scientist. From November 1955 to June 1966 he was an instructor in the department of party organs political employees in the SED Central Committee, from June 1966 to February 1971 he was second and then - after the death of Kurt Kieß - first secretary of the SED area management in Wismut Karl-Marx-Stadt. From 1971 to 1989 Rohde was a member of the Central Committee of the SED and a member of the People's Chamber .
Rohde put an end to his life on January 30, 1990.
