Almadina , officially Portuguese Município de Almadina , is a small town in the state of Bahia , Brazil . It is 450 km from the capital Salvador da Bahia . The population was estimated on July 1, 2018 at 5,566 inhabitants, who are called Almadinese.

Milton Silva Cerqueira of the Partido Trabalhista Nacional (PTN) has been city prefect since the local elections in 2016 for the 2017 to 2020 term of office .

Almadina was from 1989 to 2017 in the geostatistical mesoregion Mesorregião do Sul Baiano and formed with 40 other cities, the micro-region Microrregião de Ilhéus-Itabuna . Surrounding towns are Coaraci, Floresta Azul, Ibicarai, Ibicui and Itapitanga. The municipality shows a population decline due to emigration. The area is 245.236 km 2 with a population density of 25 inhabitants per km.
