Amadeu González Ferreiros

Amadeu González Ferreiros OdeM (born July 23, 1911 in Sindrán , Monforte de Lemos , Lugo province ; † March 20, 1995 ) was a Spanish-Brazilian Roman Catholic religious and prelate of São Raimundo Nonato .

Life

Amadeu González Ferreiros joined the religious order of Mercedarians and was ordained a priest on December 22, 1934 .

Pope John XXIII appointed him on December 23, 1961 as the first prelate of the territorial prelature of São Raimundo Nonato, established a year earlier . On February 18, 1963, the Pope appointed him titular bishop of Metrae . The Apostolic Nuncio in Brazil, Archbishop Armando Lombardi , donated him episcopal ordination on May 19 of the same year . Co- consecrators were the prelate of Bom Jesus do Piauí , José Vázquez Díaz OdeM, and the bishop of Oeiras , Edilbert Dinkelborg , OFM .

He participated in all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council as a council father.

On December 28, 1967, Pope Paul VI. his resignation.
