Amets Txurruka Ansola [ aˈmets̺ tʃuˈruˌka anˈs̺oˌla ] (born  November 10, 1982 in Etxebarria ) is a Spanish cyclist .

Career

Amets Txurruka began his career in 2006 with the British Professional Continental Team Barloworld . He achieved his first good result at the Giro del Trentino , where he was 16th overall. Later at the Euskal Bizikleta he made it into the top ten twice on the stages and ended up in ninth place in the overall standings. Since his team mates Pedro Arreitunandia and Alexander Jefimkin were still ahead of him, they could win the team standings.

In the 2007 to 2012 seasons, Txurruka competed for the Basque ProTeam Euskaltel-Euskadi . At the Tour de France 2007 he was named the most combative driver and was allowed to wear the white jersey of the best young professional for two days .
