The Amilcar Type M 4 ( Amilcar M 4 for short ) was a passenger car from the French brand Amilcar . There is also the notation Amilcar Type M4 .

description

This was a more powerfully motorized variant of the Amilcar Type M 3 . It was presented at the Paris Motor Show in October 1933 .

This model also had a four-cylinder engine with thermosiphon cooling in the front . The engine had been redesigned. It had 72 mm bore , 100 mm stroke , 1629 cm³ displacement and was rated 9  Cheval fiscal . It made 37  hp .

The chassis was largely identical. However, the fuel tank was relocated from the bulkhead to the rear, which required an electric fuel pump . The wheelbase was 2675 mm, the front track 1210 mm and the rear 1240 mm. The weight of the chassis was 70 kg higher than before. That indicates about 1070 kg curb weight .

Four-door sedans , coupes , convertibles and roadsters were offered . Here, too, there were aerodynamically designed bodies called Aerodynamic .

In October 1934 the model was still in the program. Production ended that year. The engines had serial numbers from 95,001 to 95,071, which indicates a maximum of 71 vehicles. However, this information may only relate to the Aerodynamic version . Elsewhere in the literature, fewer than 100 vehicles are estimated.
